חיל האוויר מפציץ בסוריה ללא הפסקה, ועל פי הדיווחים בסוריה צה"ל פועל להשמיד כל כלי שנשאר מצבא סוריה, בדגש על כלים אסטרטגיים כמו כלי טיס, ספינות ומערכות הגנה אווירית.
משטרו של בשאר אל אסד התפרק לפני פחות מ-48 שעות, אך ישראל תוקפת מעבר לגבול הסורי ללא הפסקה. על פי דיווחים מקומיים מטוסי קרב של חיל האוויר פעלו במהלך היום בסדרה של עשרות תקיפות, במטרה להשמיד את כל שארית חיל האוויר הסורי.
גורמים סוריים מדווחים כי במהלך היממה האחרונה, תקף חיל האוויר ציוד ותשתיות של צבא סוריה ללא הפסקה עם דגש מיוחד על כלי טיס. על פי גורמים המקורבים לשלטון המורדים, ישראל תקפה באופן אינטנסיבי בבסיס חיל האוויר אל-מייזה דרומית לדמשק שם מוקמו מרבית המסוקים של משטר אסד.
בנוסף לכך, חיל האוויר תקף באופן עמוק את שדה התעופה הצבאי קלאחה, בו מוקמו רוב מטוסי הקרב של סוריה מסוג מיג 21, ואת בסיס סייאחל בו מוקמו טייסות המיג 29 של סוריה. מעבר לכך הופצץ שוב גם בסיס טיאס או בשמו המקוצר T4, ששימש בעבר את משמרות המהפכה בסוריה.
חלק מבסיסים אלה הופצצו גם בעבר, במיוחד בסיס T4 שהיה מרכז הפעילות של איראן בסוריה ושימש כחלק מציר הברחות בין מדינתי. כעת נראה שחיל האוויר פועל במהירות ובעוצמת אש גדולה במטרה להשמיד כלים אלה, לפני שיפלו לידיי המורדים, או ידיי איראן.
